The Hubble Deep Field
Superb short film about what's probably the most important image ever captured by the Hubble space telescope.
In 2003, the Hubble Space Telescope took the image of a millennium, an image that shows exactly how insignificantly small we are. Anyone who understands what this image represents is forever changed by it. If you are the kind of person who has an over-exaggerated sense of his own importance, just take a few minutes of your time and watch this video. I can guarantee that you will be humbled by what you see in it. Enjoy the show.

Django Reinhardt
One of my favorite Django Reinhardt clips. What's remarkable about Django's playing is that he only uses the first two fingers on his left hand to play solos, the other two were partially paralysed in an accident.

Homer Simpson's Jobs
List of every job Homer Simpson has ever taken. The one that made me chuckle the most is "Grease Entrepreneur", I'd like that one on my C.V.

This Man Can Move Anything
Wally Wallington has demonstrated that he can lift a Stonehenge-sized pillar weighing 22,000 lbs and moved a barn over 300 ft. What makes this so special is that he does it using only himself, gravity, and his incredible ingenuity.

Huge underwater explosion.
The black dust is from a sunken WWII barge which they didn't know was there and was filled with 10 tonnes of explosives. They were only trying to clear mines!

A blog of ugly animals.
Your daily source for ugly animals. We avoid the simply tragic, diseased, or maimed. Rather, these creatures are only as hideous as nature - or their owners - intended.

Here's a nice cheery Wired article about how likely you are to die from various causes including terrorist attacks (which ranks quite low). The top three are driving off the road, falling and accidental poisoning.

Abandoned Russia
Another abandoned Russian city.
When the Soviet Union collapsed, government didn’t have much funds to support some small cities around strategically import objects. People of these cities were left all by themselves. Nobody could support them because any communication with this places terminated after the army decided that they now don’t have money to support those objects.

The Tank Chair is a custom go off road wheelchair that can travel on almost any terrain and can even go up and down stairs.
It seems to be missing something to me though, it would look so much better with twin mounted machine guns.

Tattooed Teacher
Everybody has this link today so I may as well join the crowd. Bruce Potts is a teacher of public speaking at the University of New Mexico and has a...well you can see for yourself.
We'll bet his students get an extra edge on using demeanor and attitude in public speaking. And a life long lesson on not judging books by their covers. Either that or they study really hard because they're afraid he'll eat them.

I Was Deaf But Now I Hear
I got my ears syringed at the docs this morning and the difference in my hearing is unbelievable, even annoying sounds seem sweet and clear.
The neighbour's burglar alarm is ringing and there are two guys outside making a racket loading up a van with TVs and stuff. I don't know what they're doing but it's so good to be able to hear again.
